An eligibility-based administration means that the students were rostered into the administration based on student criteria (grade, course, and organization) vs class criteria (grade, course, class, organization). See Administrations: Class-Based vs Eligibility.
Unlike a class-based administration, where proctor groups and test codes for each of those proctor groups are created when the administration is created, eligibility proctor groups are created on the fly when the proctors log into ADAM to proctor the test; however, eligibility proctor groups can be pre-created if you wish to do so.
This article looks at the steps following the creation of an eligibility administration through to the students logging into the administration.
Creating the Proctor Groups
Following the creation of the administration, a single Test Code and Proctor Password are found in the administration. The proctor group name is made up of the Administration Name plus the word 'Unassigned'. Referred to from now on as the 'Unassigned' test code and proctor password. These codes should be handled securely.
Proctor groups can be pre-created by a school administrator, or proctors can create their own proctor groups on the fly as they prepare to give the test to the students.
Starting the Proctor Dashboard
These steps should be performed by the proctor, prior to addressing the students in their testing group. You must have the unassigned test code and proctor password to continue. Once this section is complete, the proctor will:
- Have a unique test code and proctor password specifically for this testing group
- Provide the unique test code to the students in the testing group so they can begin their test
- Prepare for the test by going to https://adamexam.com (or https://ltr.adamexam.com) and click on Proctor a Test. An alternate url is https://adamexam.com/#/proctor (or https://ltr.adamexam.com/#/proctor)
- Enter the unassigned test code and proctor password you were provided, then press the Submit button.
- Complete the New Proctor Group form, then press the Confirm button. You are then taken to your Proctor Dashboard.
- If you are on this page, but you have already created a proctor group for this administration, then you need to use your proctor group specific test code and proctor password sent to you in email.
- If you cannot find those codes, then contact your ADAM system administrator to retrieve your existing test code and proctor password.
Starting the Administration
If you logged into the proctor dashboard too early and you now need to log back in to start the tests, find the email sent to you after completing the New Proctor Group form. An email was sent to the email address you entered into the form. This email has a unique test code and proctor password. Use that code to log back into the 'Proctor a Test' page found at https://adamexam.com.
Now that the Proctor Dashboard is open, find the test code at the top right of the page in the Actions section. This is the test code you give to the students in your proctor group when you are ready for them to start testing.
- Instruct students to go to the testing application.
- Provide the students the test code.
- Students should follow the prompts to access the test. This will include the student validation code(s) set up during test setup. This might be their state student ID and their last name.
- As students complete the login process, they will start showing up in the Proctor Dashboard.
- The default setting in the administration is to require proctor approval between the student being authenticated during log in and being allowed to start the test.
- Use the approve student button to let students in one at a time, or wait to approve the entire group at one time using the Approve All Sessions button
- Use the features on the Proctor Dashboard to control the sessions.
Here are two additional articles on using the Proctor Dashboard. They are slightly different depending upon TestNav vs. Non-TestNav test.
