Use the Quick Class Upload tool to quickly create a class and enroll students into the class using a single file.
Rostering is one of the first tasks assigned to School Test Coordinators. The first time you look at classes in ADAM, it is likely that classes are not yet associated with your school. If some classes do exist, make sure they are valid classes and delete those that are not.
- Go to Rostering > Classes.
- Select Quick Class Upload in the more menu on the top right.
- Complete Step 1.
- Select the Grade to match the Class(es) you are creating.
- Select the Course. If a student is already enrolled in a class for the selected course, then they will not be included in the download template.
- Select the Academic Session.
- Select the School to match the Class(es) you are creating.
-
Click the Click to download template button to produce a roster file of students. The template file will include students who are in the selected Grade, Academic Session, and School, but who are not yet assigned to a class in the selected Course.
- Complete Step 1.
- Open the downloaded roster file (column A is the student SSID)
- Add a class to each row of students (column F: class_code). This naming convention should help you identify these students and classes. ADAM does not look for a specific code here. For example, Jones_p3.
- Save the roster file as a CSV.
- Complete Step 3.
- Upload the modified roster file back into ADAM.
- Click OK to save the upload.

Note: If you get the error message "school with sourced ID 'xxxxxx' does not exist" you'll need to format the school column in the CSV file.
- In the CSV file, format the school column as text (right click on the column label {that should highlight the entire column}, choose format cells, set category to Text, click OK.
- Update the cell value to the 6-digit school code including the leading zero.
- Copy the school code value into each of the rows with data.
- Save as CSV file.
- Reupload into the Quick Class Upload page.
